Puerto Rico Safari #2 by Noel Ramos
Filed under: Slow Food Glades to Coast Events

Event Date: Monday, Apr 1, 2013 7:30pm - 12am
Location: Broward County Extension Service

Noel has been involved in growing tropical fruit and vegetables sustainably in Broward County for over twenty five years. He has traveled throughout the US, Europe and Latin America visiting farms, botanical gardens and backyard growers searching for new varieties and exchanging ideas with local growers. Besides volunteering for events with Slow Food, Fairchild Tropical Botanical Garden and the Broward Rare Fruit & Vegetable Council, he also lectures throughout the state about tropical gardening and environmentally friendly living.

The organizer of this event - RFVC of Broward County - is a non-profit whose goal is to   “educate the public about tropical fruits and vegetables, to encourage exotic fruit propagation, and to provide educational material on their culture as well as to introduce new and select species of rare fruit, and vegetables”. We’re happy to partner with the RFVC to bring you information about unusual fruits and vegetables that are part of our local bounty and we hope you’ll be able attend Noel’s presentation!
